Council Committees - 2020

Council may establish one or more delegated committees of the Council, which may be comprised of Councillors and other persons as members. These Committees have been established by Council under section 63 of the Local Government Act 2020.

VIEW PREVIOUS YEARS

Delegated Committees are established to assist Council with executing specific functions or duties. By instrument of delegation, Council may delegate to the members of a delegated committee any power, duty or function of the Council that it deems appropriate, utilising provisions of the Local Government Act 2020 (the Act). The Council cannot delegate certain powers as specifically indicated in section 11(2) of the Act.

The Committees listed below are those comprised of Councillors. The Minutes of each Committee have been provided below.

Development Assessment Committee

The Development Assessment Committee acts as a delegate of Council in determining planning applications made under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 in line with its Terms of Reference and Protocol for Calling in Planning Applications.

The Committee also provides advice to Council on trends, issues and other matters relating to planning or development that have become apparent or arisen through the Committee’s assessment of applications under the Act.

Moorabool Growth Management Committee

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 6 June, 2018 Council, Council established the Moorabool Growth Management Committee. This new committee will meet every three months.
