Report an abandoned vehicle

If you’ve noticed a vehicle (car, motorcycle, van, truck, trailer or caravan) that appears to have been dumped or abandoned, you should report it to us.

Post

You can report an abandoned vehicle by writing to us and posing to PO BOX 18, Ballan, Victoria 3342

In person

You can visit any of our office locations to report an abandoned vehicle.

What happens next?

We will:

  • Check if the vehicle is registered.
  • Attempt to contact the last known owner to move the vehicle.
  • Keep an eye on the vehicle while we wait to hear from the owner.
  • If we do not hear from the owner we will organise removal of the vehicle.

This can take anywhere from 7 to 60 business days, depending on the registration status.
