Council is responsible for the management and maintenance of more than $700-million worth of infrastructure assets including the local road and path network, underground drainage, bridges, buildings and facilities, parks and recreational facilities. We are responsible for the effective management of these infrastructure assets to meet current and future needs of our community.

The Asset Management Strategy sets out the framework to assist Council to deliver sustainable and effective asset management services, whilst the Asset Management Plans set out the general principles of life cycle asset management for each of the major asset groups (Transport, Buildings, Open Space and Stormwater).

A review of the existing Strategy and Plans was undertaken, and updates were recommended based on current standards and guidelines, new asset data, expected growth, professional experience, and utilisation of predictive modelling tools. Following a public exhibition period, the updated Asset Management Strategy and Asset Management Plans were adopted by Council at the June Ordinary Meeting. Copies of these documents are available here.
