Outdoor Pools and Splash Park

Council operates two seasonal outdoor pools at Bacchus Marsh and Ballan. 

For the 2025-2026 season, the outdoor pool season will commence on Saturday 6 December 2025 and close Monday 9 March 2026.

The Ballan splash park, located at Mill Park, Ballan, will also open on Saturday 6 December. This can be found at 1 Mill Park Street, Ballan.

These pools are operated using a temperature policy to govern opening hours.

The temperature policy(PDF, 834KB) dictates opening times as follows:

School Term (6 December to 19 December 2025 and 28 January to 9 March 2026)

• Below 23C - Pools are closed
• 23C and above - Pools open 3.30pm to 7pm
• 35C+ - Pools open extended hours 3.30pm to 8pm
  
  

School Holidays (20 December 2025 to 27 January 2026) and weekends

• Below 23C - Pools are closed
• 23C and above – Pools open 11am to 7pm
• 35C+ - Pools open extended hours 11am to 8pm

 

The Ballan Splash Park will be open from 10am to 8pm for the duration of the outdoor pool season.
