Mill Park Recreation Reserve

Mill Park Ballan

Mill Park Recreation Reserve in Ballan is a beautiful spot to bring the family for a picnic or barbecue, with a fantastic seating area and playground set in a grassy field among ornamental trees.

The park is named as it is the site of the former Ballan Flour Mill, which operated from 1856 until it was destroyed by fire in 1909. The Ballan mill was operated by steam and water, with a 650 metre long earth cut water race running from the Werribee River.

Mill Park has recently undergone extensive works to upgrade the area, which includes the construction of a brand new skate park replacing the previous skate park at the Ballan Recreation Reserve. A new basketball half-court has been completed, and a splash park is currently under construction.

The Ballan outdoor pool is located within Mill Park and operates seasonally. For more information about the Ballan Pool including opening details visit the Outdoor Pools page.
