Council will be opening a respite centre at the Ballan Recreation Reserve, Cowie St, Ballan on Wednesday 28 February from 9.30am, in response to the Extreme Fire Danger Rating expected on the day.
The rating has been set for the Central District which includes Moorabool Shire, with temperatures in the mid-high 30s predicted.
Community members who are enacting their fire plan to leave early are able to attend the respite centre from 9.30am to 6pm or when the cool change arrives. Refreshments and air conditioning available. Council staff will be on site.
