Expressions of interest now open for the 2026 Seniors Festival

Moorabool Shire Council is inviting local community groups, clubs and organisations to be part of the 2026 Moorabool Seniors Festival by hosting an event during October.
Celebrated from 1-31 October, the Victorian Seniors Festival recognises the important contributions of older Victorians. This year's theme, Connect, Create, Celebrate, inspires communities to come together, try something new and celebrate older people in our community.
Council is seeking expressions of interest from organisations interested in delivering events and activities that will form part of the 2026 festival program. Groups are encouraged to host events that are one-off activities or existing programs they would like to showcase.
Ideas include workshops, creative classes, gentle fitness sessions, live music, cultural experiences, film screenings, community morning teas, open days and come and try activities.
Participating organisations are responsible for planning and delivering their own event, including selecting the date, venue, catering and entertainment. Council particularly encourages events that are free or low-cost, welcoming, inclusive and accessible to older residents across the Shire.
Moorabool Shire Mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor said hosting an event was a great opportunity for community activation.
"This is the best opportunity to showcase your organisation, attract new members, celebrate positive ageing, strengthen community connections and have your event promoted through Council's official Seniors Festival marketing, including the printed festival program and online channels,” he said.
Expressions of interest close on Sunday 26 July.
