Grandstand seating for MARC Stadium
Published on 11 July 2025
Council has received $250,000 towards brand new grandstand seating at MARC Stadium, as part of a 2025/26 State Budget commitment.
Approximately 900 seats will be installed in the stadium, allowing larger events to take place to stimulate significant economic activity in the Moorabool Shire region.
Larger events include major sporting competitions, tournaments, concerts and conferences, which expect to draw larger crowds, leading to increased spending on tickets, food and beverage, and program participation. These events have the potential to attract visitors from outside the local area, further boosting the local economy.#
MARC Stadium opened its doors in early 2024 and has been managed by Belgravia Leisure. The Bacchus Marsh basketball and netball associations regularly use the facility for training and competitions. The stadium offers programs and access to state of the art sports and dance programs/facilities, catering to the inclusion of people of all ages and ability. The facility also provides a range of amenities for all to enjoy.
The indoor multipurpose facility includes a four-court indoor sports stadium to accommodate netball, basketball, volleyball and futsal.
This funding commitment is also complemented by a $6694 investment into the Bacchus Marsh Basketball Association's Hoops for Her program, which aims to boost participation among women and girls both on court and in coaching roles.
