Moorabool comes alive this November with the launch of Hide + Seek Presents, a brand-new, all-ages series of live music, spoken word, poetry, storytelling and cultural experiences across Bacchus Marsh, Ballan and Blackwood.
Featuring acclaimed touring artists and local creatives, the program invites audiences of all ages to come together, share experiences and discover new perspectives through a diverse range of arts and cultural events.
“From live performances and powerful storytelling to cultural exchange and community gatherings, Hide + Seek Presents offers a dynamic program designed to spark conversation, inspire creativity and foster connection across generations,” Mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor said.
The program showcases a wide variety of experiences, including First Nations music and cultural exchange, contemporary poetry, creative writing workshops for young people, and an evening of storytelling and live music featuring some of Australia's most celebrated spoken word artists, ensuring there is something to engage and inspire every generation.

Ballan: Thin Red Lines

What: An unforgettable poetry salon featuring poetic duets, live music and literary performance curated by renowned poetry producers Thabani Tshuma and Georgia Kartas.
Featuring: WHELK - Manisha Anjali + Genevieve Fry (music/poetry), Skyscraper Stan (music), Taylor Bell (poetry), Xiaole Zhan (music/poetry), Koosha Ahmadi (music), Eloise Grills (poetry) and Miranda Brockman (music)
Bacchus Marsh: Better Off Said
When: Friday 20 November 2026, 7pm-8:30pm
Where: Bacchus Marsh Town Hall, 207 Main Street, Bacchus Marsh VIC 3340
What: A moving spoken word salon presented by Emilie Zoey Baker and Marieke Hardy, featuring stories, reflections, live music and powerful conversations about "the words we wish we'd said."
Featuring: Thuy On, Gurmeet Kaur, Clare Wright, Eloise Grills, Cate Kennedy and The Darlings Family Trust
Bacchus Marsh: Young Writers Craft Workshop
When: Friday 20 November 2026, afternoon TBC
Where: Lerderderg Library, 215 Main St, Bacchus Marsh VIC 3340
What: An inspiring workshop with award-winning poet and performer Emilie Zoey Baker, helping emerging young writers develop their creative voice.
Blackwood: Songlines- Live and Local
When: Sunday 22 November 2026
11am–noon yarn and free workshop
2pm - 3.30pm concert
Where: Blackwood Community Hall, Byres Road, Blackwood VIC 3458
What: A workshop and live performance event celebrating First Nations artists, music and culture, presented in partnership with Regional Arts Victoria and Songlines Aboriginal Music.
Featuring : Dungala Baimi, Leo Whyman and Canisha.
