The MARC indoor aquatic centre is expected to deliver major economic benefits for Moorabool, supporting local jobs, local businesses and long-term regional growth.

Mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor said the project was an investment in both community wellbeing and the local economy.

“This project is about more than infrastructure – it is about confidence in Moorabool’s future,” Cr Venditti-Taylor said.

“It will support local jobs, bring activity into the local economy and help ensure our growing community has the facilities it needs to thrive.”

Bacchus Marsh and Ballan Local Butcher’s Shane Zammit said the project would have flow-on benefits for the broader local economy.

“Projects like this create momentum. They support jobs during delivery and add to the appeal and liveability of the shire over the long term,” he said.

Council has previously highlighted the project’s expected contribution of around $96 million in economic activity and more than 160 direct and indirect jobs, reinforcing its value as both community and economic infrastructure.
