Pay your rates

You can pay your rates in a number of different ways whether it's online, in person, over the phone, at an Australia Post outlet, or via the mail. You can also set up a regular payment arrangement with Council.

At Moorabool Shire Council you can pay your rates in the following ways:

BPAY

You can pay your rates using BPAY directly from your financial institution's online, mobile or telephone banking facility.

Biller code and biller reference numbers can be found on your annual rate notice or by contacting us.

Direct debit

To have your rates and charges automatically deducted, you will need to complete a Direct Debit Request form. We recommend checking with your financial institution to confirm your account is suitable for direct debit.

You can request to pay your rates by direct debit online, or by using a paper form.

Step 1.Complete the application form

Download an application form on this page and complete all sections.

Step 2.Submit the application form

You can submit your direct debit request via email to info@moorabool.vic.gov.au, by post or in person.

Step 3.Terminating a direct debit

You can terminate a direct debit authority at any time by advising Council in writing no less than seven days before the next scheduled direct debit drawing.

AusPost

You can pay over the counter at any Australia Post outlet, over the phone, or via the Post Billpay website. Here's how:

Step 1.Prepare for payment

You will need your rates notice and payment method ready. Payment methods accepted by Post Billpay depend on the method of payment.

  • Phone and online payments: credit or debit cards only
  • In-store payments: credit or debit cards, EFTPOS, cash, cheque

Step 2.Make your payment

To pay by Post Billpay either:

  • Call 131816 to pay at any time - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
    or
  • Pay online anytime at www.postbillpay.com.au 
    or
  • Visit an Australia Post outlet - remember to take your rates notice with you

In person

You can pay in person using a number of payment methods. Cash, EFTPOS, cheque and all major credit cards are accepted

You will need to bring your rates notice and preferred payment method to one of the following locations:

Darley Civic and Community Hub 
182 Halletts Way, Darley
Open: Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm  

Lerderderg Library 
215 Main Street, Bacchus Marsh
Open: Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm
           Saturday 9am-2pm
