If your bin has been missed you should report it so we can investigate why it was missed and organise a collection where applicable.
Before reporting a missed bin ensure that:
- your bin/s were out by 6am on the scheduled collection day, with lid opening facing the kerb
- your recycling or greenwaste bin does not contain incorrect items.
Bins containing incorrect items will receive a sticker – you are required to remove the incorrect item/s. Your bin will be emptied on the next scheduled collection day.
Please ensure any material placed in your bin is not compacted to ensure it can be completely emptied. The waste contractor will not return for bins where the contents has been compacted.
Our waste trucks are fitted with cameras that record which bins are presented for collection and what they contain, this is checked when receiving missed bin reports.

What happens next?
We will refer your missed bin report to our waste contractor. They will review the collection footage to understand what occurred and determine next steps.
Please leave your bin out at the collection location until the bin is emptied (generally within 2-3 business days) or you have been contacted by a member from Council’s Waste Team.
Forgot to Put Your Bin Out?
Unfortunately, if your bin was not presented for collection by the scheduled pickup time, we are unable to arrange a return collection. To avoid missing a service, please place your bin out the night before your collection day or before 6.00am on the day of collection.
