Moorabool Shire’s biggest celebration of older residents returns this October, with more than 40 free and low-cost events and activities taking place across the municipality.

Running from 1 to 31 October, the 2026 Moorabool Seniors Festival offers a full month of opportunities for older residents to connect with others, try something new and enjoy what the local community has to offer.

Events will be held across the Shire, from Bacchus Marsh and Ballan to smaller communities including Bullarook, Lal Lal, Blackwood, Gordon, Bolwarrah and Navigators, making it easier for residents to take part closer to home.

A highlight of this year’s program will be the Moorabool Country Concert on Friday 9 October, featuring Amber Joy Poulton’s Honky Tonk Queens. The live show celebrates the golden era of country music, with classic hits from Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette. Attendees are also invited to stay for a light lunch following the performance.

The popular Moorabool Seniors Expo will return to the Bacchus Marsh Public Hall on Friday 2 October. The Expo will bring local organisations, services and community groups together in one place, with free barista coffee and ice cream, live demonstrations and lucky door prizes available throughout the event.

“We’re so thrilled to host another seniors festival, off the back of very successful events in previous years,” Mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor said.

“I encourage our seniors to enjoy the many free activities, including live entertainment, creative workshops, exercise sessions, gardening, technology support, social activities, community meals, local history, open days and opportunities to connect with clubs and groups.”

Bookings are required for some events due to limited places.
