Community invited to help shape the future of Maddingley Park and surrounds
Council is inviting the community to help shape the future of Maddingley Park and its surrounds.
Engagement opens on 5 November 2026 and will inform two connected projects: the Revised Maddingley Park Master Plan and the Maddingley Park and Surrounds Precinct Plan.
The planning area includes Maddingley Park, the secondary oval, the Moorabool Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC) precinct, and adjoining land and connections that support sport, recreation, community activity and informal use of open space.
Mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor said community feedback would be important in helping Council understand what people value about the precinct, how it is used and where improvements could be made.
“As Bacchus Marsh grows and community needs change, Council is planning for how these spaces can continue to meet the needs of residents, visitors and sporting groups,” Cr Venditti-Taylor said.
“Investing in sport, recreation and community facilities creates long-lasting benefits for our community, and community feedback will help guide these plans.”
While the two plans are closely connected, they have different purposes.
The Revised Maddingley Park Master Plan focuses on Maddingley Park and the secondary oval. It will update the existing master plan with detailed recommendations on sporting facilities, recreation opportunities, accessibility, landscaping, visitor amenities and the overall park experience.
The Maddingley Park and Surrounds Precinct Plan takes a broader view of how Maddingley Park, the secondary oval, MARC and adjoining land function together. It will consider access, movement, connections between facilities, community use and long-term planning across the precinct.
Together, the plans will provide a coordinated framework to inform future investment, activation and decision-making.
Cr Venditti-Taylor encouraged people who use the precinct, as well as those who may face barriers to accessing it, to get involved.
“We welcome feedback from residents, schools, sporting clubs, community organisations, MARC users, park visitors, local businesses and anyone with an interest in the precinct,” Cr Venditti-Taylor said.
“Whether you use these spaces regularly or there are barriers that make it difficult for you to access them, we want to hear your views.”
Engagement is open from 5 November to 17 December 2026.
People can complete an online survey, share ideas on an interactive map, or attend a community drop-in session. Targeted discussions and workshops will also be held with relevant groups to ensure a broad range of views is heard.
Feedback will inform draft plans, which will be released for further community review before being finalised.
