Local community group? You could be eligible for a grant
Do you belong to a community group that has a project in mind or needs new equipment? Council’s next round of community grants will open soon, and non-profit community groups are encouraged to apply.
Council has provided funding to hundreds of community groups in the past through this program for everything from sporting equipment to community events.
“We had some fantastic applications for funding in our last round earlier this year which will result in amazing infrastructure and programs to benefit the community,” Moorabool Mayor Cr Paul Tatchell said.
“Among the successful applicants were a community-organised Diwali Festival event, a new trailer for the Ballan Lions Club mobile BBQ and a series of Open Mic Nights in Blackwood set to liven up the township over Winter. We’re looking forward to seeing what the community wants to fund this time around.”
Applications for this current round open on 1 August and close 31 August.
To help groups prepare a submission, an online grant writing workshop will run on Tuesday 29 July from 6pm to 7pm.
Drop-in sessions are available on Monday 4 August in Bacchus Marsh, Tuesday 5 August in Ballan and Thursday 7 August in Gordon. Register via our website.
