Bald Hill award nomination
Published on 10 April 2026
Our beautiful Bald Hill Activation Project is a finalist at the 2026 LGPro Awards for Excellence in the Community Assets and Infrastructure (population less than 50,000) category.
The nomination recognises the transformation of Bald Hill into a standout regional destination. Winners will be announced at the LGPro Awards for Excellence ceremony on 18 June 2026 in Melbourne.
Mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor said being named a finalist was a proud moment for the organisation and the broader community.
“Bald Hill is an incredible asset for Moorabool Shire, and it’s fantastic to see this project recognised at a state level,” Cr Venditti-Taylor said.
“The all-abilities trail and 1000+ steps is a destination that attracts visitors from Melbourne and right across Victoria, while also being a much‑loved place for our own community.”
The project includes an all‑abilities path, the iconic 1000+ Steps, and an immersive summit trail, all designed to encourage exploration, connection with nature and active recreation for people of all ages and abilities.
Cr Venditti-Taylor said the panoramic views from the summit were a highlight that continued to draw visitors back.
“The views from the top of Bald Hill are simply magnificent,” he said.
“Whether you’re a first‑time visitor or a local returning again and again, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression and showcases the natural beauty of Moorabool Shire, so it’s fantastic to see it receive recognition through this award nomination.”
