Mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor will host three Australian Citizenship Ceremonies on Monday 15 June 2026, celebrating the official welcome of 80 adults and 10 children as Moorabool’s newest Australian citizens.
The ceremonies, scheduled for 5.00pm, 5.45pm and 6.30pm, mark a significant milestone in the lives of these individuals, who have demonstrated an understanding and acceptance of Australian values, dedication and commitment to Australia.
Our newest citizens have travelled from countries across the globe including the Philippines, India, Colombia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Singapore, China, Malysia, Nepal and Uganda.
Mayor Cr Venditti-Taylor said the events were a highlight in Council’s calendar and present an opportunity to reflect on the privilege of Australian citizenship and what it means to be Australian.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to give a warm welcome to our newest citizens and acknowledge the importance of what it means to become a full member of the Australian community. There is no greater privilege than our citizenship. It’s a life-long commitment to Australia’s values of freedom, democracy, equality and respect,” Cr Venditti-Taylor said.
“I congratulate those becoming Australian citizens on making their commitment to Australia.”
