Bald Hill Community Celebration

Join us for a community event celebrating the completion of the much-anticipated Bald Hill precinct in Darley.

Between 2022-25, Council has delivered the three stages around the iconic Bald Hill (Stage 1 - All-Abilities Trail, Stage 2 - 1000+ Steps, and Stage 3 - Summit Trail) and now is the perfect time to experience it for yourself.

Formal proceedings will begin at 10am at the Swans Road car park. For those who want to complete the 1000+ Steps beforehand, another group will meet at the Telford Park car park (Halletts Way, near the Darley Civic Hub) at 9am. 

Once the formalities conclude at about 10.15am, you're invited to join a guided walk around the summit circuit with council staff from the Projects and Arts teams. Staff, including the artists involved in the project, will be available to answer questions and discuss the sculptures along the trail. The Summit Trail is about 2.5km long, with water provided however you are encouraged to bring your own if possible.

A free coffee van will be on-site from 9.45-11am with a free BBQ also operating during this time. 

Parking at the Summit Trail is limited, so carpooling is encouraged where possible to help reduce congestion.

Location

For those who wish to climb the 1000+ Steps, the meeting place is the SES Car Park along Halletts Way at 9am.
For the formal proceedings, meet at the Swans Road car park from 10am.
