Pay your rates

You can pay your rates in a variety of ways, including BPAY, over the phone, by mail, in person, at any Australia Post outlet, or by setting up a Council-managed direct debit. You also have the option to set up a regular payment plan with Moorabool Shire Council.

Moorabool Shire Council offers the following payment methods:

 

BPAY

You can pay your rates via BPAY through your financial institution’s online, mobile, or telephone banking service.

Your BPAY Biller Code and Reference Number are located on your Annual Rate Notice. If you need assistance, please contact our Customer Service team on (03) 5366 7100.

Direct debit

To have your rates and charges automatically deducted, you will need to complete a Direct Debit Request form. We recommend checking with your financial institution to confirm your account is suitable for direct debit.

You can request to pay your rates by direct debit online, or by using a paper form.

Step 1.Complete the application form

Download an application form on this page and complete all sections.

Step 2.Submit the application form

You can submit your direct debit request via email to info@moorabool.vic.gov.au, by post or in person.

Step 3.Updating your direct debit details

If you need to update the details for your direct debit you can do so by submitting a new form. Please allow 7 days before the next scheduled direct debit drawing.

Step 4.Cancelling your direct debit

You can terminate a direct debit authority at any time by advising Council in writing no less than seven days before the next scheduled direct debit drawing.

AusPost

You can pay over the counter at any Australia Post outlet, over the phone, or via the Post Billpay website. Here's how:

Step 1.Prepare for payment

You will need your rates notice and payment method ready. Payment methods accepted by Post Billpay depend on the method of payment.

  • Phone and online payments: credit or debit cards only
  • In-store payments: credit or debit cards, EFTPOS, cash, cheque

Billpay code and biller reference numbers can be found on your annual rate notice or by contacting us on (03) 5366 7100. 

Step 2.Make your payment

To pay by Post Billpay either:

  • Call 131816 to pay at any time - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
    or
  • Pay online anytime at www.postbillpay.com.au 
    or

  • Visit an Australia Post outlet - remember to take your rates notice with you

In Person

You can pay in person using a number of payment methods. Cash, EFTPOS, cheque and all major credit cards are accepted

You will need to bring your rates notice and preferred payment method to one of the following locations:

Ballan Office

Open: Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pm

Darley Civic and Community Hub 
182 Halletts Way, Darley
Open: Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm  

Lerderderg Library 
215 Main Street, Bacchus Marsh
Open: Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm
           Saturday 9am-2pm
