Platypus Sculpture Naming Competition

Help name the new Platypus Sculptures at Lerderderg Library

Three new platypus, clever and bright,
A mum and two babies – what a lovely sight!
With water‑like bubbles that shimmer and gleam,
They splash through our space like a river‑fresh dream.

Made from cardboard boxes, recycled with care,
These three special sculptures are truly quite rare.
At Lerderderg Library they are on display,
Waiting for names to be sent their way.

Should it be funny? Should it be neat?
A name that makes everyone smile when they meet?

Consider the habitat of a platypus too,
And our local area – rivers, bushland and you.

So think, imagine, giggle and play,
Come up with a name and send it our way!
