Welcoming our new Australian citizens

Moorabool Shire Council Mayor Cr Ally Munari will host an Australian Citizenship Ceremony on Tuesday 10 September 2024 at West Maddingley Early Years Hub, commencing at 6.00pm. The Ceremony will see 13 adults and 8 children proudly receive official Australian Citizenship.
New Australian citizens demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of Australian values, dedication and commitment to Australia by becoming official citizens at ceremonies held around the country.
Our newest citizens have travelled from countries across the globe including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Samoa, North Macedonia and Ethiopia.
Mayor Cr Munari said the event is a significant event in Council’s calendar and is an opportunity to reflect on the privilege of Australian citizenship and what it means to be Australian.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to give a warm welcome to our newest citizens and acknowledge the importance of what it means to become a full member of the Australian community. There is no greater privilege than our citizenship. It’s a life-long commitment to Australia’s values of freedom, democracy, equality and respect,” Cr Munari said.
Cr Munari said citizenship is the common bond uniting all Australians, whether you are a citizen by birth or by choice.
“I congratulate those becoming Australian citizens on making their commitment to Australia,” Cr Munari said.
