WRL EES deadline extended

Western Renewables Link Environment Effects Statement submission deadline
The Western Renewables Link (WRL) Environment Effects Statement (EES) public exhibition began on 30 June and has been given a short extension from Friday 22 August to 11.59pm, Monday 25 August 2025.
Planning Panels Victoria provided the limited extension to ensure the EES is exhibited for 40 full business days.
WRL proposes a 190km overhead high-voltage transmission line from Sydenham to Bulgana, approximately 60km of which runs directly through Moorabool Shire from east to west.
Council will be providing an EES submission covering a range of technical matters to address broad project impacts on Moorabool Shire, its community and environment.
“Council understands that this project continues to impact individuals, their properties and communities in many ways,” Mayor Cr Paul Tatchell said.
“Our community members are best placed to speak to their local knowledge and personal experiences with the project in an EES submission, so Council strongly encourage them to do so.”
Council has developed guides on the EES process and an example EES submission structure to support community members with preparing a submission.
The EES Information Guide and EES Submission Structure Guide are available on Council’s website and at Council’s Customer Service centres in Ballan, Darley and the Lerderderg Library in Bacchus Marsh.
