A Reloved Book

There are so many old and damaged books around that are just begging for a new life. In this workshop we will be creating a collaged concertina book using a recycled old hardback book and a selection of old book pages that will be reworked into collage which will then be cut up to create the book.

Requirements:

Each participant will require:

  • 1 old hardback book, novel size
  • Selection of book pages preferably with different print types and sizes and different shades eg white, cream, beige, foxed, stained/ dirty.
  • Some interesting pages such as old maps, drawings, handwritten pages

About the artist:

Fundamentally, Kerrie is a maker, with a lifetime of making and creating across a diverse range of disciplines, materials and techniques. Initially working from a garment /textile and stitch background Kerrie developed an interest in mixed media work often incorporating recycled and found objects.

Always a keen reader it was a natural progression to making artist books, altered books and book art as a means of both displaying her work and exploring concepts and techniques. Kerrie is committed to learning both as an educator and an active participant in art and textile related disciplines.
