Best Start is an early years place-based initiative funded by the Victorian State Government's Department of Education and Training. The program supports families, caregivers and communities in providing the best possible environment, experiences and care for children from birth to eight years.

What is Best Start?
Best Start is an early years place-based initiative funded by the Victorian State Government's Department of Education and Training. The program supports families, caregivers and communities to support children 0 - 8 years.
It focuses on prevention and early intervention for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children experiencing vulnerability.
Program aims
- Children engage and participate in early childhood education (eg. kindergarten and supported playgroups)
- Children and families actively engage with Maternal and Child Health services
