Check the planning zones and overlays on a property

Your property will be located in a Planning Zone, the zone determines what land can and can’t be used for. These zones also indicate whether a planning permit is required to construct a building or carry out works.

Your property may also have Planning Overlays on it, for example a Environmental Significance Overlay. These overlays apply special controls onto land, such as protecting heritage under a Heritage Overlay or managing flood areas through the Special Building Overlay.

If no overlays are listed on your property, your property has no overlays.
