There are a range of activities, support services and programs available for youth in Moorabool! Whether you're into music, sport, events or just hanging out with friends, our youth services team has something for you. Our youth website will give you all the details you need to get involved in activities and find youth-related services.

Youth Services focuses on 5 key themes:

  • Health and Well Being
  • Education and Employment
  • Infrastructure – Built and Natural Environment
  • Resourcing Council’s Youth Services
  • Communicating with Young People

Within these themes Council’s Youth Services unit:

  • provides programs, services and events
  • provides advocacy and leadership
  • facilitates networks and partnerships
  • fosters youth engagement
  • develops strategy and policy
  • and provides advice and support to young people and the community

Studio 22

Our Youth Services will be opening up Studio 22  as a place for young people aged 12-18 years. There will be heaps to do and lots of fun, video games, art & craft, shoot hoops, nail art, and lots more. No need to book, just complete the permission form and either email back to or bring along with you on the day.

All Moorabool young people are invited to come along, enjoy the activities and talk to us about the things you would like to see happening in Moorabool for young people.

Studio 22 is located at the Council Offices and Community Hub 182 Hallett’s Way Darley, enter via gate 3.

2018 Youth Awards

The Moorabool Youth Awards recognise the contributions young people make to Moorabool.  Anyone aged between 12 and 25 years as at 30 April 2018, who lives, works, goes to school or has other significant connections to the Moorabool Shire, and has made a contribution to their Community, is eligible to nomination for this award. Contributions can include an achievement in an area of interest sport, arts, voluntary service to the Community or someone who has overcome significant adversity.

Anyone can nominate, young people can even self-nominate.

If a nominee is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian of the nominee must give permission for the nominee to be part of the Awards.

The awards will be presented on Tuesday 24 April 2018 as part of Moorabool Youth Month.

Nomination forms are also available at Council offices in Bacchus Marsh and Ballan.

Nomination forms must be completed and returned to Moorabool Shire Council offices in Bacchus Marsh or Ballan or via email to by 5pm on Wednesday 7 March 2018.

Youth Awards Guidelines

2018 Art Competition

This year FReeZA Committee is running an Art Competition for anyone aged 12-25 years. The four categories are;

  • Digital (Photo’s / Movies/ animation/ digital drawing)
  • Paint/ Charcoal 
  • Pencil (drawing / shading etc..)
  • Themed

The theme category allows you to create an art piece with a theme, the theme chosen for this year is “Night”. To enter in the themed Category your art piece must relate to night, in any way you feel appropriate.

Participants are to submit a photo or soft copy of your art to and drop the physical copy of the art  work to the Council Offices, 182 Halletts Ways Darley, by Thursday 29 March 2018. There will be a winner for each category and a people choice winner where people within the Community will have the opportunity to vote on the artwork.

The awards will be presented on Tuesday 24 April 2018 as part of Moorabool Youth Month.
