Do you see yourself as a community leader in Moorabool Shire?
Develop your leadership skills and help drive community projects in a free program starting in May.
The program is a FREE 18-week course that is run by a highly experienced community development practitioner in tandem with Council.

Time: 6 pm - 7 pm
Program overview
The program focuses on leadership styles, building relationships, teamwork, communication, community development, community engagement, civic participation, and presentation.
What you can expect the program to lead to:
- Delivering a community project
- Building community capacity
- Staying connected as a community group
- Commencing a new community volunteering role
Program details
- Dates: 5 May - 17 September 2021
- Format: a mix of weekly online and in-person sessions
- Online sessions: every Wednesday evening for 2 hours
- In-person sessions: every Saturday afternoon for 4 hours at the Darley Civic Hub
Please note there is a maximum of one session per week.
Who can apply
This opportunity is open to residents or individuals who demonstrate a strong community connection to the Shire. We encourage participants from all backgrounds and the program is hosted in an inclusive environment.

- Young people who want to learn and contribute to their community
- New residents who want to develop their community leadership skills
- Those who are passionate about addressing a particular community issue
- Those who would like to share their skills to benefit their local community

- People involved in community sport

Further information
- The program is intensive and practical in nature and does require a significant commitment
- There is a minimum attendance requirement and any sessions missed will be the responsibility of the participant to catch up on
- Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a certificate of participation at a celebration event to be held in September
