The Moorabool Shire Community Grants Program provides over $250,000 annually to community groups and organisations to help support and enhance innovative community activities, projects and events.

 

There are five grant streams available for eligible community groups and organisations:

 

Community Strengthening Grants

Community groups and organisations can apply for:

  • Community Programs, Activities and Initiatives; (Up to $5,000)
  • Capital Improvement Projects (Up to $5,000); and
  • Small Projects (Up to $1,000).

Applicants need to demonstrate a contribution toward the cost of their project on a ratio of $1 for $1 (Council $1: Group $1). This contribution can be demonstrated either by cash or in-kind support. Small community strengthening projects under $1000 are not required to provide a contribution.

 

Community Arts and Culture Grants

Community groups and organisations can apply for up to $3,000.  Applicants need to demonstrate a contribution toward the cost of their project on a ratio of $1 for $1 (Council $1: Group $1). This contribution can be demonstrated either by cash or in-kind support.

 

Community Events Grants

Community groups and organisations can apply for up to $3,000.  Applicants need to demonstrate a contribution toward the cost of their project on a ratio of $1 for $1 (Council $1: Group $1). This contribution can be demonstrated either by cash or in-kind support.

 

Community Development Fund Grants

Community groups can apply for a grant of between $5,001 and $100,000. To be successful applicant must meet minimum funding threshold requirements.  Please contact Moorabool Shire's Community and Recreation Development unit for further information.

 

Sustainability and Environmental Engagement Grants

Community groups and organisations can apply for up to $3,000. Applicants need to demonstrate a contribution toward the cost of their project on a ratio of $1 for $1 (Council $1: Group $1). This contribution can be demonstrated either by cash or in-kind support.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When can I apply for a community grant?

    The Moorabool Shire Community Grants Program is offered twice a year through funding Rounds 1 and 2.  Round 1 2018 will open in March.

  • How do I apply for a grant?

    Applicants should carefully read the guidelines for the Community Grant program or Community Development Fund program. This will help you to determine if your group or organisation is eligible for a grant.

    Organisations/groups should then make contact with Moorabool Shire's Community Development and Recreation Officers for application guidance and support.  Please note that this is a application requirement.
