Following the Victorian Premier’s announcement to gradually ease restrictions, from May 18, Council will re-introduce some domestic assistance services to our older residents.

The services resuming are:

  • Domestic Assistance (i.e. vacuuming, mopping, cleaning, etc)
  • Home Modifications and Property Maintenance (i.e. hand rails, shower rails, etc)
  • Flexible Respite for Urgent Care Clients; whilst maintaining safe social distancing requirements.

Mayor Cr David Edward says that Council has developed procedures that ensure that these services can resume safely and effectively following easing of restrictions.

“These services are critical to our older client’s everyday life and by providing personal support and home support services, we can help make our older resident’s day more seamless.”

“All services will be delivered in line with health advice. Our employees are qualified with the Department of Health’s COVID-19 Infection Control training and will continue to practice social distancing in our clients’ homes.”

“As restrictions begin to ease, it is important that Council reintroduces vital services like these to the community.”

Council will also be introducing an additional health check over the phone, before attending our clients’ homes to ensure our older residents are healthy and comfortable with this service being delivered.
