Limited book browsing available at Moorabool Libraries

Following successfully offering click and collect book services, Moorabool Shire Council residents can now browse the libraries’ collection from Monday June 22.  With community safety a constant priority, this service allows for a maximum of 20 people in Lerderderg Library to browse the collection for a total of 30 minutes per person. As well as 3 people in Ballan library to browse the collection for a total of 20 minutes per person.

The following services will be on offer from Monday June 22: 

  • Browsing the collectionLimited numbers and time limits at both libraries.
  • Lerderderg Library: Limited to 20 people for a maximum of 30 minutes, per person. 
  • Ballan Library: Limited to 3 people for a maximum of 20 minutes, per person. 
  • Self-Checkout: Patrons are asked to use the self-checkout stations to borrow, which will be cleaned after each use. .  
  • Wi-fi is available from inside the building, limited to 2 seats. Bookings can be made. (30-minute time limit applies).  
  • Printing Service: Wifi enabled printing is available from your device. When using this service for the first time: Login: Print / Password: Password 
  • RETURNSGiven the need to quarantine returned items for 72 hours, returns will only be accepted via the external returns chute.
  • MOBILE LIBRARY VAN: Only 1 person can be in the van at any one time. Arrangements can be made (through contacting Ballan Library) for the mobile library to deliver resources to its usual stops.
  • HOME LIBRARY SERVICE: will continue as usual. 

Services currently not offered:

  • At this stage there will be no Council payments available at Lerderderg Library. 
  • At this stage meeting rooms are unavailable for bookings.  
  • There is no seating available in the library. 

Always remember:

  • Practice good hygiene and social distancing. (Hand sanitiser will be provided upon entry). 
  • Library visitors are asked to follow the direction of the Library concierge staff and signage in branches and be respectful of the rules that are in place to keep everyone safe. 
  •  You will be required to advise staff of your name and contact details on entering the library for DDHS health tracking.
  • Online events will continue, so tune in to Moorabool Libraries Facebook page for Storytime, Bedtime Storytime and a heap of craft activities.
