After consulting with the community, Moorabool Shire Libraries is pleased to announce it will open Lerderderg Library in Bacchus Marsh until 8pm on Mondays and Thursdays, starting next month.
After a Council resolution to trial extended opening hours at the library, Council asked the community to provide feedback on what days they would like the library to open an extra three hours.
“The feedback showed Mondays and Thursdays were the most popular days,” Mayor Cr David Edwards said.
“This will be good for the Bacchus Marsh community, especially people who work or study and can’t get to the library until after 5pm and students who want to use the library after hours to study.”
The extended opening hours will commence on Monday 2 October on a trial period until June next year, after which time Council will decide whether there is merit in making the change permanent.
“I’d encourage the community to make the most of the extended hours if they want it to remain,” Cr Edwards said.
To celebrate the trial, Library Services are hosting a launch night with a free barbecue, kids entertainment and activities, music, door prizes and a chance to meet our friendly staff.
