Bacchus Marsh and Ballan – Open Space and Sports Facility Master Planning Consultation
Let us know your thoughts on major sports facilities in the Shire!
Council is developing plans for five sporting sites in Moorabool, four in Bacchus Marsh and one in Ballan – and we want your input.
Council is asking for community input at the start of planning so we can gain an understanding of what the community wants our sporting areas to look like.
The five sites for consideration are:
Siberia (Maddingley Park)
Taverner Street - Vacant Land on adjacent to Siberia on corner of Fisken Street
Peppertree Park (including existing pool site)
Mill Park, Ballan
The project will involve:
Development of masterplan options for consideration covering all sites.
The masterplans will consider building locations, splashparks, playground infrastructure, entrance treatments, access requirements, carparking, multipurpose use, landscaping, active and passive recreation areas and services.
An adopted masterplan for the Taverner St site that will include indoor sports stadium (4 courts) as stage 1, and an aquatic centre as stage 2.
Design of new splash parks in Bacchus Marsh and Ballan
Council is using Social Pinpoint as a way for the community to have a say online. Residents can pinpoint on a map which project they want to comment on. All comments will be collated to form a final set of masterplan options will be presented to Council for endorsement allowing the projects to progress to the next phase of design.
