Christmas closure, garbage and pound information

We wish all our residents, visitors, business owners and workers a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year!

 

Changes to services throughout the holiday period:

Council Offices will close on 12.30pm Friday 21 December 2018 and will re-open on Wednesday 2 January 2019 at 8.30am.

 

Garbage & Recycling

Please note the following changes will occur to garbage and recycling services over the Christmas/New Year period: Christmas Day (Tuesday 25 December) collections are scheduled for service on Wednesday 26 December 2018 and New Year’s Day (Tuesday 1 January) collections are scheduled for Wednesday 2 January 2019.

 

Pound

The pound will be open: December 24, 27 28 , 29, 30 and 31, between 4pm and 4.30pm. Appointments may be considered outside this time.

December 25 and 26 will be open by appointment only to collect a pet.

 

Maternal & Child Health

  • Maternal & Child Health Service will be closed from 12.00pm Friday 21 December 2018 and will re-open on Wednesday 2 January 2019.
  • Families with urgent health issues relating to new-born babies are advised to refer back to the hospital of delivery or their local Doctor.
  • 24 hour phone advice is available through the Maternal & Child Health Line on 13 22 29.

 

Occasional Care

  • The Occasional Care sessions will begin on Wednesday 30 January 2019 at the Darley Early Years Hub – bookings can be made from 21 January 2019.

 

Active Aged & Community Access

  • The Active Ageing & Community Access unit will be closed from 12.30pm on Friday 21 December 2018 and will re-open on Wednesday 2 January 2019. Limited Community Support staff will be out in the field providing personal care and emergency respite during this period. An on-call service is available on 0409 138 201 throughout this time. We wish all our clients and their carers a Merry Christmas and look forward to supporting you again in 2019, Happy New Year.
