Located on the outskirts of Ballarat, Wallace originated as a Cobb and Co stop between Melbourne and Ballarat.
Quickly becoming a popular settlement site for farmers in the mid-1800s, Wallace developed a strong dairy industry. The local butter factory ceased operation during the 1990s however the building is heritage listed and remains to this day.
