Draft Moorabool Sustainable Environment Strategy and Implementation Plan
Council has recently completed a Draft Moorabool Sustainable Environment Strategy and Implementation Plan which aims to provide direction to the management and protection of the natural environment and actions to reduce Council’s environmental impact to 2041.
The Strategy has been developed to comprise of two components: Strategic Direction 2016 - 2026 and Implementation Plan 2016 – 2021
In developing the draft strategy and implementation plan, workshops were held with internal and external stakeholders providing input as to the actions Council has previously undertaken in relation to sustainability and environmental management.
Stakeholders providing input to the draft strategy included:
- Department of Environment, Water, Land & Planning (DELWP)
- Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport & Resources (DEDJTR)
- Moorabool Landcare Network
- Melbourne Water
- Port Phillip & Westernport Catchment Management Authority
- Corangamite Catchment Management Authority
- Sustainability Victoria
- Grow West
- Central Highlands Water
Council is now seeking your feedback on the Draft documents with the purpose of seeking your views around the identified actions and whether they are appropriate to guide future decision making through to 2041.
