Age Friendly Project - Update 16/07/2018
The Age Friendly Surveys received, including through Have Your Say have been collated. We would like to thank everyone who took time to participate in the survey and subsequent workshops.
Information from the surveys is currently being workshopped through a number of Think Tanks involving Moorabool Shire Staff, our Age Friendly Ambassadors and members of the community who expressed an interest in participating in this process through the consultation phase.
Following the Think Tank process, Council staff will be working with the Age Friendly Ambassadors to process the ideas identified through the workshops, to select a number of local projects to be funded, with the aim of improving the age friendliness of the Bacchus Marsh, Ballan and Bungaree areas.
Further information regarding this project will be communicated through local media, Council’s website and Council’s Facebook pages.
Moorabool Shire Council seeks to support its community to become Age Friendly, which will lead to sustainable, healthy communities for all. The process actively involves older people in decision-making, to develop a plan of action, aspiring to make Moorabool a great place to grow old in. A group of Age Friendly Ambassadors has been formed to consult with older community members about what would make Moorabool Age Friendly.
Following the consultation process a number of 'Think Tanks' will be held with the Ambassadors and community members, to workshop and identify some localised projects to improve age friendliness in Bacchus Marsh, Ballan and Bungaree.
We are seeking input from residents over 50 years of age to complete the attached survey.
This survey will close 31/05/2018
