Kindergarten Registrations for 2025

Council manages the allocation of both three-year-old and four-year-old kindergarten places in programs for the following kindergartens:

  • Bacchus Marsh Montessori Uniting Kindergarten - Gisborne Rd
  • Darley Kindergarten – Darley Early Years Hub
  • West Maddingley Kindergarten - Maddingley
  • Young Street Preschool – Bacchus Marsh
  • Ballan Community Kindergarten - Ballan
  • Wallace and District Kindergarten - Wallace
  • Ballan Primary School Kindergarten (Opening January 2025) - Ballan

Children can attend kindergarten in 2025 if they turn three years of age (for three-year-old kindergarten) or four years of age (for four-year-old kindergarten) on or before the 30 April 2025.

In 2025 we are excited to announce that a new kindergarten service will be available onsite at Ballan Primary School. Ballan Primary School Kindergarten is currently in the process of construction and will be ready for kindergarten service early in 2025. The kindergarten service provider will be announced in late-2024.

Do I need to register again if I registered for three-year-old kindergarten in 2024?

Yes. If you registered for a three-year-old-kindergarten place in 2024 via the Council website, you need to register again for four-year-old kindergarten in 2025. Please see the Council's CRES Kindergarten Registration Process (PDF, 237KB)for further information.  

Timeline for Central Kindergarten Registration 2025

  • 4 March 2024 Registrations open.
  • 21 June 2024 Registrations for first round offers close.
  • July 2024 First round offers emailed.
  • 23 August 2024 Registrations for second round offers close.
  • September 2024 Second round offers emailed. Kindergartens receive admission details for all accepted places from Council.
  • From October 2024 Families receive enrolment information from their accepted kindergarten.

Online

Filling out our online form is the quickest and easiest way to register to attend either three-year-old or four-year-old kindergarten in 2025. You can also use this form to register to attend three-year-old or four-year-old kindergarten in 2024.

You will need to prepare a couple of things before you start the 10 minute registration form.

Proof of address
You can use a rate notice, lease agreement, driver’s license with current address, or a utility bill. Have a photo of your proof of address ready. 

If you are a Priority One registrant (see Council’s CRES Kindergarten Registration Process) that holds a Health Care Card, Veteran's Affairs Gold Card, White Card or Pension Card, you will need to upload a copy of your card (scan or photo).

Other

If you do not have access to the online registration form please contact the Early Years team to request a paper copy of the form. 

We allocate kindergarten places after first round registrations close. Places are allocated based on priority of access and preferences. You can find out more about these in the Council's CRES Kindergarten Registration Process(PDF, 237KB).

First round registrations close 21 June 2024. Offers of a kindergarten place will be made in July 2024. Second round registrations close 23 August 2024. Second round offers will be made in September 2024.

Registrations received after the second round closes will be allocated to available kindergarten places according to priority of access and preferences.

Next Steps

We make kindergarten offers via email. If you do not receive your email, please check your junk mail/spam folder. You will then need to reply with your choice or desired next steps. If you do not have an email address other arrangements will be made.

Once you have followed up with your written response, your allocated kindergarten will contact you in October/November to organise enrolment.
