Moorabool Libraries welcomes Symone Barry to the role of Community Connector.

Symone has been a local Moorabool resident since 1985, having a working background within libraries.

Since 2016 Symone has been President and member of the new Ballan & District Branch of Country Women’s Association Victoria, whose goals as a branch were to support local initiatives, programs and events and raise funds for distribution amongst local organisations, schools and groups.

The community connections made within the Ballan and District communities continue to affirm the vital need for public community spaces offering free services and activities.

The COVID19 pandemic has restricted and impacted upon many members of our Moorabool community. With social isolation and loneliness increasing since library spaces have been closed.

In this role as a Community Connector Symone seeks to provide greater opportunities to reengage the community with library services, programs and wider community groups and activities.

Symone will be running activities focusing on health, wellbeing, sharing skills, and helping people make connections.

The first activity Creative Craft Connections: Crochet Basics will run at Ballan Library on Saturday 18 September from 10.30am-12.30pm.
