Warm Winter Read
1 June – 31 August 2023
As the temperature drops we want you to make time for yourself and your chosen story every day. Build your reading habit this winter with the Beanstack app or by picking up a Reading Journal from the library.
Ages:
The Warm Winter Read is designed for ages 16+.
What is Warm Winter Read?
The Warm Winter Read aims to encourage adult readers across Victoria to create healthy reading habits by tracking the days participants read over June, July and August 2023. While reading is its own reward, you'll also go in the running to win some bookish prizes!
How to register:
To participate in this challenge, library users are required to register for an account through the Beanstack app or by picking up a paper Reading Journal from the library.
Log your reading:
Participants are asked to log each day they read something, regardless of whether they read for five minutes or five hours. Participants are also able to log a book they are reading, including start date, pages completed and finish date if they would like.
Up for a challenge?
Participants are encouraged to tick off six challenge activities as they progress through the challenge period.
1. Create a cosy reading spot
2. Read aloud to a person, pet or plant
3. Start a new series OR read the next book in a series you have started
4. Recommend a book you love online or in-person
5. Listen to an audio-book while doing something else
6. Read a book set somewhere you'd like to travel to
How can I participate?
Participants can register and log their participation via the Beanstack website or by downloading the Beanstack Tracker app from the Google Play Store or Apple App. Store. If you have not used Beanstack before you will have to sign up to make an account. When filling in your details make sure to select “Moorabool Libraries” as your library service.
