2022 Moorabool Libraries Art Spaces Program
Information for potential contributors
Submissions can be made online here or by completing a paper form available from Bacchus Marsh or Ballan Libraries.
How to apply
Expressions of Interest will require:
- A completed application form (which includes an exhibition rationale)
- a CV and;
- up to 4 high res (1MB) examples (images) of work.
Applicants can propose one space only as part of any application. Alternatively, applicants can submit multiple applications for distinct exhibitions tailored to each exhibition space.
Submissions can be made online here or by completing the form below.
- Clarity of theme/concept of the exhibition.
- Quality of documentation provided.
- Works that fit within the limitations of the exhibition spaces.
Preference will be given to local artists, community groups or school groups who either live or work in the Moorabool Shire Council or whose work responds to the local environment.
About the Moor Art Program
Moorabool Libraries is seeking expressions of interest to exhibit in Moor Art @ Moorabool Libraries in 2022.
The Moor Art Program seeks to support Moorabool’s Arts & Culture strategy 2021-2025 and it’s goal to be a regional home for thriving creative communities.
Moor Art @ Moorabool Libraries aims to play a significant part in the cultural life of Moorabool Shire Council by providing opportunities and spaces to nurture the growth of the creative sector within our libraries. This program aims to promote and support traditional and contemporary artists through access to community exhibition spaces and is a way for both artists and libraries to assist in creating moments of joy in everyday life for the local Moorabool community.
All exhibitions wherever possible will be promoted in the monthly Moorabool Arts, Culture & Libraries e-newsletter, the Moor Art @ Moorabool Library website and the @mooraboollibraries Facebook page.
* Please note if Libraries are affected by closures all exhibitions will move to an online format.
Exhibition Spaces – facilities and requirements
Moor Art Lerderderg
Moor Art Lerderderg is a communal space consisting of four display walls measuring 2m x 2m, 5m x 2m, 3m x 3m and 1.5m x 3m. This space has a metal railing system with hooks. Located within the Bacchus Marsh Library.
Lerderderg Arena is an internal Library space consisting of 2 display walls measuring 3m x 1.5m and 3m x 1.5 m. This space has a metal railing system with hooks. Located within the Bacchus Marsh Library.
Display Pedestals consists of 3 enclosed display pedestals suitable for 3D installations. Display surface area each measuring 38 x 38cm. Available for use at either Bacchus Marsh or Ballan Libraries.
Moor Art Ballan
Moor Art Ballan is an internal Library (freestanding) space suitable for 3D installation measuring 2.2m x1.4m with a 0.7m depth from wall. Located within the Ballan Library
Ballan Arena is an internal Library space consisting of one display wall measuring 4.6m x 1.2m. (Wall adjacent to Library sign). This space has a railing system with hooks. Located within the Ballan Library.
