Hide + Seek Music Festival is a mid-winter music festival sharing the artists and unique venues only found in the Moorabool Shire.

The Moorabool Shire is just 45 minutes drive north west from the CBD of Melbourne and boasts many amazing musical artists and venues as well as grand landscapes, dense forests, spectacular gorges, quaint old gold mining towns and a deep and rich history through the Wadawurrung and the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung of the Kulin Nations.

Barry Gilson | Welcome to Country | 5.30 - 6pm | July 2
Barry James Gilson is a Wadawurrung man. A singer, award winning poet, writer, narrator and storyteller. Barry specialises in bringing back the ancient words and language of his people.


Aunty Marlene Gilson | Projection on the Gordon Public Hall | 5pm - 8pm | July 2
Marlene Gilson has reclaimed and re-contextualised historical events such as the eureka stockade. Expressing Wadawurrung culture, through images of Bundjil the eagle and Waa the crow. Who are her two totems. She has various works on show around the world. One being a painting at the gallery of New South Wales, on permanent display with the old masters .

Wayne Quilliam is a local Aboriginal photographer with more than 30 years experience of creating culturally meaningful content, Wayne has built a reputation of trust and friendship in communities from the Torres Strait to Tasmania, from Broome to Bawaka. Adjunct Professor Wayne Quilliam is one of Australia’s pre-eminent Indigenous photographic artists, curators and cultural advisors working on the international scene. His awards include the 2009 NAIDOC Indigenous Artist of the Year, the Human Rights Media Award, the Walkley Award for photojournalism and the Supply Nation business of the year award. He was also a finalist in the 2016 Bowness Art Award.
