National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

NDIS is a new way of providing support to people in Australia under the age of 65 living with a permanent disability. You can check your eligibility with the NDIS or we can help you.

What is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?

NDIS is a new way of providing support to people in Australia under the age of 65 living with a permanent disability.

What does this mean?

  • If you receive an NDIS approved plan you can only access services through an NDIS approved service provider 
  • If you are eligible for, or receiving NDIS funding for services you are not able to access services through the State Governments Home and Community Care Program (HACC-PYP)
  • If you are currently receiving Home and Community Care services, we encourage you to contact the NDIS to check your eligibility

 

What happens if I am not eligible for NDIS?

  • If you are living with a disability aged under 65 years and not eligible for the NDIS, we encourage you to contact mecwacare who is the Home and Community Care provider for Moorabool Shire residents.
  • You can contact mecwacare by calling 1800 163 292 or 03 8573 4980 to discuss your needs. Alternatively you can email the Central Intake team on intake@mecwacare.org.auMore information about mecwacare is available on their website.
