Several successful grants awarded to Council recently will continue the infrastructure boom in the Shire and help Moorabool thrive.

A significant investment has bene made at Bacchus Marsh Racecourse Recreation Reserve (BMRRR) with $3.2 million given by the State Government to build a new pavilion and all-abilities hub on the site.

In addition to this, Council was successful in receiving two grants under the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund (LSIF) for BMRRR - $1 million for female friendly changerooms and $300,000 for new cricket nets.

Dunnstown Recreation Reserve also received LSIF funding - $300,000 for community facilities including changerooms, a gym and a community room.

Earlier this week, Member for Buninyong Michaela Settle also announced $67,000 For activity nodes along the Aqualink Trail in Bacchus Marsh, and $200,000 for a play space at Darley Park.

Moorabool Shire Mayor, Cr Tom Sullivan, said it was fantastic to see investment from the State Government in our growing Shire.

“We’re thankful to the government for helping us make Moorabool thrive,” Cr Sullivan said.

“The announcements for the recreation reserves are great news not just for sporting clubs, but for all community members who are able to use these facilities as a place to gather and socialise.”

“And the activity nodes and playground funding is so important in helping us drive active and passive recreation and all-ability spaces.”
