Statement from Mayor Cr Tom Sullivan re Queen Elizabeth II
Published on 09 September 2022
On behalf of Moorabool Shire Councillors and staff, I wish to express our deepest sympathy to the Royal Family, on the sad loss of Queen Elizabeth II. Aside from her role as Queen, she was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and we mourn this loss with her family.
I’d like to acknowledge the incredible work she undertook during her 70 year reign. There are very few people alive who wouldn’t have known her as our sovereign.
Council and its workers are dedicated to public service, and there was no better example of tireless public duty than that undertaken by Queen Elizabeth II.
The flags at our offices and across the Shire will be flown at half mast until we are advised otherwise.
Anyone who wishes to pay their respects can leave an online condolence message that will be sent to Buckingham Palace here: https://bit.ly/3cX23of
