About this event

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australian children are developmentally behind in their language skills before they even start school?

Join us for a free Speechie library talk, which will give parents and carers a unique opportunity to learn more about how they can help develop their child’s language and literacy and help to set them up for success.

Speech pathologists are the professionals with the unique skills and knowledge to help build children’s language and literacy.

The Speechie library talk will go for about an hour and some of the topics to be covered in the presentation include amongst many other things:

• choosing the right books

• ways parents and carers can help to build language and literacy

• encouraging interactions

• how to support multi-lingual children through book reading

• what to do if your child is having difficulties with reading.

This presentation will also include an informative reading of one of the Association’s Book of the Year winning titles in the birth to 3 year-old category.

Moorabool Libraries is a COVID-19 safe organisation and requires all visitors to Libraries to comply with the Chief Health Officer’s directions at all times.

Suitable for parents and carers with children aged 0 - 3yrs.
