Emergency re-establishment payments

If your home is destroyed or you are not able to live in it as a result of a natural disaster, a payment from the Victorian Government could help towards getting your life back on track.

After an emergency, a re-establishment payment is:
• a helping hand to re-establish your home
• for people on a low income facing financial hardship
• help for people without insurance
• not compensation, or a replacement for insurance.

This assistance is available to households of limited financial means, whose principal place of residence (their home) is uninhabitable (damaged or destroyed) or is inaccessible due to the June 2021 flood and storm emergency. It is provided through the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
