Do you need a planning permit?

Seek written advice from Council as to whether land use and/or development requires a planning permit. 

Council can provide specific planning information on proposed developments.

You may apply for:

  • Written confirmation on whether a planning permit is required for a proposed use and/or development.
  • A copy of a Planning Permit or Endorsed Plans if not available on Greenlight.
  • Other specific planning information as requested.

For written advice, lodge a Planning Information Request form including:

  • Your contact details.
  • Title details of the subject land (include a recent copy of title and title plan identifying the land).
  • What information is required.
  • Details of existing use and/or development.
  • Details of the proposed use and/or development. Provide site or development plans if available, and any extra information as appropriate.
  • The prescribed fee. If lodged electronically, Council will contact you for fee payment.

Planning information requests are normally processed within 7-10 business days.
