Heritage

Moorabool Shire Council acknowledges the Indigenous history of its land that was traditionally occupied by and connected to a number of Aboriginal communities. The most notable of these was the Wathaurong Tribe in the south and west, and the Wurundjeri Tribe in the east. In the early 1800s, the Europeans arrived in the area and used the land for pastoral activities. After discovering gold, they used the land for mining limestone and sand deposits.
