Mill Park sits alongside the Werribee River in Ballan amongst open spaces and mature trees.  The park contains significant town history and includes an existing pool facility and older recreation and landscape features that are due for reinvigoration.

The Mill Park Improvements project aims to support and implement the recommendations of the Mill Park Masterplan (endorsed December 2020).

We have secured funding for some of these recommendations, such as:

  • Upgrade of entry road and pedestrian access
  • Installation of skate park and pump track
  • Installation of 3x3m basketball practice court & ring
  • Play space and splash park construction
  • Landscaping improvements and ancillary works

Council has recent allocating from the Federal Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCIP) for the above works that will be constructed over 2022 and 2023.

Construction activity has been undertaken for road, car park and pedestrian improvements and design works is currently being developed based on the masterplan and input through community consultation. A contract for construction of a skate park has been awarded to Convic, specialist skateboard contractors to make this project a reality.
