Working Together For Our Community
Moorabool Shire Council dedicates itself to its community. Council exists to serve its community, providing essential core services and delivering on key projects to enhance liveability of the Shire for all citizens. Everything Council does and every decision it makes is done so with the community's best interests in mind.
Council manages its operations in an open and transparent fashion and continually reviews and improves its functions to be sure it is providing maximum service to its constituents.
Our Traditional Owners
Council acknowledges the Indigenous history of Moorabool Shire. The land was traditionally occupied by and connected to a number of Aboriginal communities, most notably the Wada Wurrung (also known as Wathaurong) Tribe and Woi Wurrung Tribe which extends north east.
In May 2009, the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council appointed the Wathaurung Aboriginal Corporation as the registered Aborinal Party (RAP) for the traditional country of the Wada wurrung people.
